There’s a lot of hype these days about leadership. Most of it just shouts at you to “Be different!” “Be a maverick!” “Get paid for going against the grain!” and other such hoopla. Very little of it helps you to take concrete actions that effect change –for yourself or others. At the end of the day, most of us have been left thinking that’s all very nice, maybe even inspiring, but what do I do?
Leadership Skills Training gives you a RoadMap to become more influential in your life. To create the life you want to lead and embody the skills and practices that others want to follow.
In depth self assessment. Know your “Meta Programs” and how to de-code others. Delve into your past successes and get in tune with what makes you come alive. Identify and appreciate your criteria for optimum “flow state” at work. Work with peers to get immediate feedback and brainstorm ideas about your future. Develop a fantastic network of fellow leaders who are committed to maximizing their potential and making the world a better place.
Rapport skills training. Be able to build rapport with anyone. Understand different communication styles and learn and practice the art of increasing your own flexibility to meet others where they are. This training forms the basis of mastering other leadership skills.
Master the leadership development framework. Gain an understanding of the five keys to successful leadership and how to put them into practice.
Learn cutting edge skills for effective communications: successful interviews (from either side), giving and receiving effective feedback, running dynamic meetings, and impactful presentations.
Foundations of Leadership (for full description click here) is the same course that executives in career transition and consultants wanting to learn change-work techniques will take, however there is a different 5-session webinar following the live training for each group. All participants in the live training can take any follow up webinar (or all at no additional fee). The course precedes all trainings and is prerequisite. The focus of this intense 4-day experience is: 1) self assessment, 2) rapport skills training, 3) mastering the leadership development framework. 2012 trainings: June 20 -23, and Oct 10-13 (9am – 5pm, Marin location to be announced).
Influential Interviews: learn effective communication styles and how to prepare for interviews from either side. Master maintaining a calm and assertive state in any circumstance. Two day training, next class: September 20-21, 2012 (9am – 5pm, Marin location to be announced). Fee:$350 per person.
The Art of Constructive Feedback: learn the most effective techniques for giving and receiving feedback. Practice advanced rapport techniques to be able to handle conflict effectively. Two day training, next class in 2013.
Dynamic Meetings: learn and practice using rapport skills in a group setting. Understand the different types of meetings, what styles of communication are appropriate at each, and how to facilitate each type of meeting to get the results you need quickest. Two day training, next class in 2013
Impactful Presentations: learn how to “wow” the crowd. This includes stagecraft techniques and practice, guidelines for using visual aids, and how to stay in rapport with your audience. Two day training, next class: November 8-9, 2012 (9am – 5pm, Marin location to be announced). Fee:$350 per person.
* All trainings can also be adapted to fit business needs and taught on site. Please call to find out how we might work together to create a leadership culture in your organization.
